A trip to Florida!

This past week Steve and Michael took a trip to the USA!

Michael has a doctor friend in Florida by the name of Dr. Shenery Cotter. She contacted us a few weeks ago, saying she had an entire warehouse of used medical equipment we could come and sort through, taking whatever would be useful to the new clinic. It would be disposed of very shortly, so if we wanted any of it we needed to come almost immediately! She generously offered to pay for some of the airfare also!

So off they flew!
They arrived in Florida Thursday afternoon, went through the warehouse all day Friday,
and came back to Haiti on Saturday!

One of the very useful pieces of equipment that was given:
An ultrasound machine!
This will be invaluable to the new clinic!

Michael sorts through some packaged items.

As they sorted and picked things out, Gospel to Haiti items were marked with orange tags.

One of the great medical beds that was donated.

The Doctor's son, Joe (right) and nephew, Alex (left),
both helped Steve and Michael go through everything.

Another box to look through...
It took them about 10 hours to go through the whole warehouse!

The completed pile of Gospel to Haiti items...

There was so much there it will fill a 26' inclosed trailer!

As you can see, it was no mean task to go through everything!
But we were so tremendously blessed by how the Lord provided for the new clinic in this way!

A preaching trip to Labich!

Brother Darwin has been down here for the last week on a pastoral visit and had been invited to Labich to preach. So, on Sunday evening, several of us men went across the mountains for a special evening service there in Labich!

Prayerfully sitting and listening to a native pastor,
Bro. Darwin waits his turn to preach in Aleg.

When it was his turn he talked about sowing seeds in the lives of our children
and how we need to be continually planting good seeds.

After lunch we headed out to Labich.
It is about a 2 hour drive over the mountains.

Coming over the first mountain ridge we were greeted with many beautiful and breathtaking scenes.

Andrew, Daylo, Nathan and Steve took one machine
while Bro. Darwin and Pastor Levy went in another.

In some places the roads were pretty rough!

The riverbed below often runs dry, but during the rainy season or hurricanes it will fill up to the brim!

Approaching Labich!

The church building in Labich is fairly new...

The evening service started at about 7pm.
There was a nice sized congregation waiting for us.

Pastor Darwin, before preaching...

The service went well and Darwin got to preach a sermon similar to the one he preached in Aleg.

Outside the church a few people listened from the windows...

Monday morning, after much good fellowship and sharing,
we prepared to leave.

But before we left they prepared a wonderful breakfast of spaghetti, fried bananas and boiled eggs for us!

Steve, getting everything ready to go.

Back on the trail again!
The weather was perfect for traveling.

In the riverbed there was a huge market.

It was all closed Sunday evening, but now it was bustling with activity!

An interesting road going up a mountain...

Coming back into familiar territory now!

And so ended our trip to Labich!
